The Royal Gorge Bridge is a tourist attraction near Cañon City, Colorado within Royal Gorge Bridge & Park, a 360-acre (150 ha) amusement park located along the edge of the Royal Gorge around both ends of the bridge.[9] The bridge crosses the gorge 955 feet (291 m)[note 1] above the Arkansas River[7] and held the record of highest bridge in the world from 1929 until 2001 when it was surpassed by the Liuguanghe Bridge in China.[10] The Royal Gorge Bridge maintained the title of the world's highest suspension bridge until the Beipan River Guanxing Highway Bridge was completed in 2003, also in China.[10] The bridge remains the highest bridge in the United States and was among the ten highest bridges in the world until 2012.[10]

Taipei 101 / TAIPEI 101[1], formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center – is a landmark supertall skyscraper in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. The building was officially classified as the world's tallest from 2004 until the 2010 completion of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. In 2011, the building received Platinum certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system, and became the tallest and largest green building in the world.[9][10] At one point it had the fastest elevator in the world, traveling at 60.6 km/h (37.7 mph) and transporting passengers from the 5th to 89th floor in 37 seconds.

Construction on the 101-story tower, which is designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes, lasted from 1999 to 2004.

Designed to evoke both technology and Asian tradition, with a postmodernist style that puts a modern spin on traditional design elements, the tower serves as an icon of modern Taiwan. Fireworks launched from Taipei 101 feature prominently in international New Year's Eve broadcasts and the structure appears frequently in travel literature and international media.

A multi-level shopping mall adjoining the tower houses hundreds of stores, restaurants, and clubs.

The Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex (German Zeche Zollverein) is a large former industrial site in the city of Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It has been inscribed into the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since December 14, 2001, and is one of the anchor points of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.

The first coal mine on the premises was founded in 1847, and mining activities took place from 1851 until December 23, 1986. For decades, starting in the late 1950s, the two parts of the site, Zollverein Coal Mine and Zollverein Coking Plant (erected 1957−1961, closed on June 30, 1993), ranked among the largest of their kinds in Europe. Shaft 12, built in the New Objectivity style, was opened in 1932 and is considered an architectural and technical masterpiece, earning it a reputation as the “most beautiful coal mine in the world”

Alhamdulillah today I received a PC from Belarus. Postcard with Saint Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk. An architecturally beautiful building.

The Cathedral of Holy Wisdom in Polotsk (Belarusian: Полацкі Сафійскі сабор; Russian: Собор Святой Софии в Полоцке) was built by Prince Vseslav Briacheslavich (r.1044–1101) between 1044 (it is first mentioned in the Voskresenskaia Chronicle under the year 1056) and 1066. It stands at the confluence of the Polota and Western Dvina Rivers on the eastern side of the city and is probably the oldest church in Belarus.

Thank God today I got an official postcrossing postcard from Deutschland. The postcard has a lighthouse. But there is no information on where it is. Amazingly, this postcard only travels 13 days from its home country.
